The Las Vegas 51s came out on the right end of a tight pitcher’s duel Saturday night, riding a great start from Gabriel Ynoa back to a .500 record. Ynoa worked into the 8^th in this start, and then a pair of left-handed Josh’s kept Sacramento off the scoreboard for the final two frames.

The only mark against Ynoa came in the 2^nd, when Grant Green took him deep to give the River Cats an early lead. He worked a clean frame in 4 of the first 7 innings, and then departed after allowing a leadoff single in the 8^th inning. It was another sinker heavy start for Ynoa, an approach that has helped him to the 2^nd best ERA in the PCL to date – some guy named Julio Urias leads the league.

Josh Smoker finished off the 8^th for Ynoa, striking out the final two batters of the frame. Josh Edgin then K’d the first two batters of the 9^th while picking up the save for Las Vegas. Edgin’s slider was nasty, but I don’t have info on his fastball velocity – yet.
