The Columbia Fireflies struggle to score runs continued Friday night in Charleston, and they’d waste another great combined effort from their pitching staff. Tyler Badamo and Tyler Bashlor held the River Dogs to just 2 runs on 6 hits, but it was not enough, and the Fireflies have now been outscored 3-1 in the series.

Tyler Badamo was uncharacteristically wild at times in this outing, reaching 3 walks for the second time this year, but just the 4^th time in 30 career appearances (24 starts). None of the walks came back to burn him though, and the only run he allowed came on 3 consecutive singles with two outs in the 4^th inning.

The Fireflies were quick to get the run back in the 5^th inning, with Vinny Siena knocking in the run on his 10^th double of the year. The game remained tied at 1 until the 8^th inning, when a throwing error from J.C. Rodriguez allowed the game-winning run to come home. There were two outs in the inning and the ball was hit to J.C.’s right. He has a very strong arm, as you can see below, but he skipped it to 1B, and Dash couldn’t pick it.

Charleston reliever Cody Carroll worked the last 4 innings for the River Dogs, and he K’d the last 4 batters of the game.
