Keeping track of recent minor transactions within the Mets system
5/23 – Lucas Duda was moved to the 15-day DL, retroactive to
5/21, with a stress fracture of the lower back. Sounds like it could be a long stretch (4-6 weeks) without the big man at 1B. The Mets then
DFA’d Dario Alvarez so they could callup Ty Kelly from the Las Vegas 51s.
5/24 – Wilmer Flores joined the B-Mets to begin his rehab.
5/25 – The Braves claimed Dario Alvarez off waivers.
5/28 – The Mets acquired James Loney in exchange for cash
considerations. In other news, I just yawned. Still waiting to see if the Mets
announce a corresponding 40-man move today or not.
5/23 – Las Vegas lost Ty Kelly to the Mets but Kyle Johnson
was added as OF depth.
5/24 – Gavin Cecchini returned from an extended trip on the
DL – he had been dealing with back problems.
5/26 – Roger Bernadina was placed on the 7-day DL with “an
oblique issue,” and C Jeff Glenn was activated for the roster spot – it proved
to be perfect timing, as Glenn would be used out of the pen Thursday night.
5/23 – The B-Mets lost Kyle Johnson to the 51s but Dale Burdick was added as infield depth. Odd assignment for the HS draft pick who
has never played above rookie ball, but he gets to be a depth player in
Double-A instead of playing noon games in extended spring training, so I’m sure
he’s happy.
5/24 – Flores began his rehab assignment. The B-Mets shook
up their pen before the game, sending Mike Hepple and Kelly Secrest down to St.
Lucie in exchange for Tim Peterson and Alberto Baldonado.
5/24 – Lost two of their best relievers from 2016 (Peterson and Baldonado) but got back
two of their best relievers from 2015 (Secrest and 2015 FSL All-Star Hepple).
5/22 – David Thompson was moved to the DL, so Luis Ortega
was activated. No news on the injury for Thompson, but Adam Rubin said it wasn’t
expected to keep him out for long.
5/24 – Vicente Lupo was moved to the Cyclones roster so
Andrew Church could be activated for the start.
