May 16-22, 2016
Keeping
track of the hottest minor leaguers in the Mets farm system.
Hitter of the
Week: The entire 51s lineup is red-hot right now, but T.J. Rivera is
hotter than hot. He had a 1.538 OPS over 31 PA, with 5 XBH and 2 K: 2 BB as the
51s visited Oklahoma City and Colorado Springs.
Starting Pitcher
of the Week: Joe Shaw had a double-digit strikeout effort against
Charleston, which gives him the edge over some fine starts throughout the system
last week.
Relief Pitcher of
the Week: Craig Missigman provided the Fireflies with a starters load
worth of innings this past week, and allowed just 2 hits over his 5.2 scoreless
innings.
Team of the Week:
The Las Vegas 51s red-hot offense carried them to a 5-1 week and back into 1st
place in the PCL Southern division. They maintain a small ½ game lead over the
Salt Lake Bees, but they’ve played one game more than the Bees.
