Despite the addition of rehabbing Mets infielder Wilmer Flores, the Binghamton Mets offense stayed ice-cold Tuesday night against Adalberto Mejia and the Richmond Flying Squirrels. The 3-0 loss dropped the B-Mets to 7 games under .500, and it was the third time they’ve been shutout in May.

Flores played 1B for 7 innings and went 2-3 with a strikeout and 2 singles. He struck out on 3 pitches against the lefty Mejia in the 1^st inning. Flores then worked a 7-pitch AB before lining a single into LF in the 4^th. Lastly, he fisted a first pitch fastball into CF with two outs in the 6^th inning. Defensively, he handled a couple of hot shots cleanly at 1B over the first 3 innings.

Binghamton starter Tyler Pill wasn’t very sharp while walking a season high 4 batters, but he limited the damage to just 2 runs over his 6 innings. Both run came home in the 5^th inning, when Austin Slater came through with a two out double to CF.

Alberto Baldonado made his Double-A debut behind Pill and looked sharp in his first inning of work before getting a little wild in the 8^th. Baldonado allowed a walk and issued a wild pitch in the 8^th before Ali Castillo singled home the third run of the game. David Roseboom was called upon to finish the frame and would pick up 2 K’s over 1.2 scoreless innings.

Matt Oberste stayed hot at the plate with two more hits, which you can check out below, but no other B-Mets regular had a hit until L.J. Mazzilli came up for the first time in the 9^th.
