Recapish
The
Las Vegas 51s pulled out another win in Colorado Springs Saturday night, coming
back for a 4-3 win after a strong start from Seth Lugo. T.J. Rivera led the way
on offense again, finishing with 3+ hits for third straight game and 4th
time in his last 5 starts.
Lugo
was down 2-0 before recording an out in this game, so it looked like it could
end up a long night for him. Fortunately for the short-handed 51s, Lugo settled
down and retired 16 of the next 18 batters before allowing a 6th
inning double off the bat of Orlando Arcia. Arcia came around to score on Manny
Pina’s third triple of the year, which also happened to knock Lugo out of the
game.
Josh
Edgin would take over for Lugo in the 6th and strikeout Garin
Cecchini to end the 51s threat. Chase Bradford, Josh Smoker, and Paul Sewald
then combined to keep Colorado Springs off the scoreboard for the last 3
innings, which allowed Las Vegas to take over with 4 unanswered runs.
I
break down the offensive details with highlights and have included a pitch log
below, so enjoy! This series wraps up Sunday afternoon at 3:35 PM, with Duane Below
(2-3, 4.21 ERA) scheduled to pitch for Las Vegas.
MiLB.tv Scoring Highlights
T.J.
Rivera had three hits in this game, including his 11th double of the year with two outs in the 3rd
inning - shown here with his first single.
Brandon
Nimmo hit his 3rd triple of the year with one out in the 5th
inning, but Las Vegas couldn’t get him home.
Roger
Bernadina led off the 7th with a single through the left side of the
infield, and then the 51s tied the game up with some 2 out magic: Rivera
(single), Travis Taijeron (pop up double that fell in behind the 2B bag), and Marc Krauss
(single) came through with consecutive two out RBI hits.
Krauss
walked and came around to score the game deciding run on Niuman Romero’s RBI
single in the 9th inning.
