2016 Monday Morning Mets Minors Players of the Week

May 9-15, 2016

            Keeping track of the hottest minor leaguers in the Mets farm system.

Hitter of the Week: Dilson Herrera. Matt Oberste, Tomas Nido, and Milton Ramos all make compelling cases with their respective teams, but a 4-homer week is too good to overlook.

Starting Pitcher of the Week: Rafael Montero didn’t allow a run over 2 starts last week and finished with 13 K in 11.2 IP. The 5 walks allowed aren’t great, but he made up for that with a 59% groundball rate on balls in play.

Relief Pitcher of the Week: Tim Peterson K’d nearly half the batters he faced last week, which is no surprise considering he has a 48% K-Rate through 16.1 IP this year – 28 K: 2 BB with only 7 H allowed.

Team of the Week: The Las Vegas 51s, who appear to have some players that could help the Mets this year.
