With a strongly built 6-foot-5 frame, Shaw has the type of durable build that will have no problem carrying innings at the next level in a starting role. Logging a team high 86 innings and 15 starts this spring out of the Friday night role for Dallas Baptist, Shaw features a premium fastball that works in the 90-94 mph range that will touch higher at times. Making double digit starts for the first time in his career in 2015, Shaw collected 10 victories along with 69 strikeouts and shows a big breaking ball in the low-80s.

Joseph has really stepped in as a true Friday night guy and has really good stuff to go with good pitchability. He’s got mound presence and he’s going to make you feel pretty good as a coach,” he said. “He can definitely bump his fastball up there at 95 when he wants to. He was bumping 96 as a closer, but he wasn’t near as good then as he is now as a starter. His ball moves a bit better and his development has been neat to see.
