Post-game recap: Gabriel
Ynoa was shelled again, and the B-Mets struggled to pick up the necessary big
hit, going only 3-14 as a team with RISP, which allowed Bowie to even the
series. After a perfect 1st from Ynoa, Bowie jumped on him for 4 runs
on 4 hits, including 3 extra base hits (2 2B, 1 HR), in the 2nd – Ynoa
allowed the 2R-HR with two outs in the frame. Binghamton would come right back
to tie things up in the 3rd, with five of the first six batters
reaching on hits, including an RBI double from Conforto, and a 2R triple from J
Rod. Unfortunately, Ynoa went gave that 4-run lead right back in the bottom of
the 3rd, allowing the first five batters to reach before getting an
out in the frame: single, HBP, BB, 2R double, 2R single. Matt Koch came in and
provided Binghamton with two strong shut down innings, but Binghamton only had
two runners reach 2B over the final 5 frames.

Post-game recap: Casey
Delgado had another strong effort for Savannah, and the offense struck for 7
runs in the 3rd, providing just enough padding for the pen, which
got an unusual subpar performance from Ricky Knapp. The Gnats scored a run in
the 1st without recording an out, but the threat would end quickly
when Garcia struck out and Leroux started a double play. The Power would strike
back in the 2nd thanks to a one out triple to RF off the bat of
Jerrick Suiter. That tie would not last long, as Savannah started their 3rd
inning rally with a run just 3 batters in – just like in the 1st,
they had a run in before an out was recorded, but this time they would not
waste the opportunity. Becerra actually started the inning with a strikeout,
but he reached 1B on a passed ball, and then eventually stole 3B before
scoring. Tomas Nido picked up an RBI double in the inning – another double driven
to RF. Lupo and Johnson would take crucial two out walks in the frame, as it
extended the inning for a 2R double from Guillorme, and then a 2R single from
Becerra. Delgado would record the first two outs in the 4th, but then
the Power chipped away with a single and a blast. Delgado would work around a
pair of singles over his final 3 frames before handing the ball off to Ricky
Knapp. Knapp would allow consecutive extra base hits (double, bomb) for 2 runs
in the 8th, which made it an 8-5 game. He struck out the first two
batters in the 9th, but then an error and triple made it too close
of a game for manager Jose Leger’s comfort, so he brought in the BOOM, David
Roseboom that is, and he struck out Elvis Escobar to finish the game.
Minors MVP of the Day
– Luis Guillorme tripled his doubles total for the season, and the 3 hits put his average back over .300. He's now slashing .307/.377/.322, with a 13.2 K%: 9.7 BB%, 3 doubles, and 6 stolen bases in 8 attempts.
Minors Cy of the Day
– The Mets have had several pleasant surprises already in their system this year, and Casey Delgado is threatening to become another. He's now a perfect 3-3 in the minors leagues, with a 2.65 ERA through his first 17 IP, and a very nice 16 K: 3 BB (23.9 K%: 4.5 BB%), and a .213 AVG allowed.
