Perfect Game Page

Logan (LT) Tolbert is a 2015 SS/RHP with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Piedmont, SC who attends Wren HS. Tall slender young build, very projectable physically. Smooth defensive actions at shortstop, very athletic, quick transfer and release with very good arm strength and carry, fields out front with balanced actions, fluid, makes all the plays. Left handed hitter, early load and flow to the ball, easy low effort swing, loose and extended, has some uppercut plane and lift, will overswing at times and pull off his front side, very good bat speed with more to come with additional strength. Shows prospect level tools on the mound, slow paced leg raise delivery, 3/4's arm slot, easy arm action. Steady upper 80's fastball, good spin on a 11/5 curveball, showed feel for his change up, had a quick and efficient inning. High ceiling prospect, just waiting for the strength to kick in. Excellent student, verbal commitment to South Carolina. ~6/12/2014

Logan (LT) Tolbert is a 2015 SS/RHP with a 6-3 175 lb. frame from Piedmont, SC who attends Wren HS. Long and tall projectable build, projects very well physically. Left handed hitter, tall stance with limited shift, leveraged swing with quick hands and bat speed, has length and loose extension, big power potential, shows ability to make barrel/hand adjustments in games, hard pull contact. Easy athletic actions defensively in the infield, good footwork and balance, smooth and polished, will eventually have to move to third base due to quickness/range but will excel there, also has right field tools. Two-way prospect potential, slow paced tall delivery with good gather at the top, quick compact arm, fastball topped at 88 mph, good spin on hard curveball, arm projects, easy to see low 90's in the future. Foot speed is only athletic negative at present, everything else stands out. Good student, verbal commitment to South Carolina. 8/13/2013
