Ben Griset (3.60 ERA) – 1 IP, SO, 1 GO: 1 FO

Post-game recap: Another strong game from the top of the lineup, but Luis Guillorme specifically has been extremely consistent for Savannah all year; I’m sure it’s interesting to have Jeff McNeil play SS for the St. Lucie Mets, but if Amed Rosario will be out for awhile, why not let Guillorme take over that spot?; Michael Gibbons has slowed down some so far in the SAL, but he looked interesting in my two MiLB.tv looks, so I’ll be curious to see how he adjusts to the league over the final 6 weeks of the season.

Matt Blackham (2-1, 2.76 ERA) @ Dario Agrazal (3-1, 2.53 ERA)
@West Virginia (15-16) at 7:05 PM
Yesterday: L 5-3
Today: L 8-1, Blackham (L, 2-2, 3.82 ERA) – 1.1 IP, 7 H, 6 R (4 ER), BB, 2 SO, 3 GO
Lineup
CF – Tucker Tharp – 0-3, SB (5)
PH/CF – Enmanuel Zabala – 0-1, SO
SS – Alfredo Reyes – 1-4, SB (3), GIDP
LF – Hengelbert Rojas – 0-4, 3 SO
DH – Jeffrey Diehl – 1-3, R, HR (3), RBI (10), 2 SO
PH/DH – Zach Mathieu – 0-1
3B – David Thompson – 1-3
3B (sub) – Branden Kaupe – 0-1, SO
C – Brandon Brosher – 0-3, SO
C (sub) – Manuel Hilario – 0-1, SO
RF – Oswald Caraballo – 0-4, 2 SO
1B – Pedro Perez – 1-3, SO
2B – Will Fulmer – 2-3, 2B (1)
Bullpen:
Darwin Frias (4.91 ERA) – 2.2 IP, H, 2 R, BB, 3 SO, 2 HBP, 2 GO: 1 FO, 2 IR – 0 S
Luis Mateo (0.00 ERA) – 3 IP, H, 3 SO, 5 GO: 2 FO
P.J. Conlon (0.00 ERA) – 1 IP, 2 GO: 1 FO

Post-game notes: 5 errors from the Cyclones, including 2 from the talented Alfredo Reyes, who now has 9 with the Cyclones; Diehl’s HR was a “mammoth shot, possibly the longest he’s ever hit,” per the announcer Stu Johnson; this was Luis Mateo’s first appearance for the Cyclones in 2015 after 5 scoreless innings in the GCL (6 K: 1 BB, 2 H); it was William Fulmer’s first action since 6/29; Michael Bernal was included in the original lineup, but scratched for some reason; Hengelbert Rojas moved up in the lineup and had his first hitless game with the Cyclones; Blackham had no control of his knuckle-curve, and his fastball was hit hard, so he left in the 2nd inning a day after Blake Taylor left in the 3rd; Taylor will be skipped in the rotation this next turn, but the Cyclones hope he’ll only miss one start – of course they hope that, but if this is the same problem he experienced in XST (forearm strain), then I’m not so confident he’ll be finishing the season healthy this year.
