Recap
The
B-Mets return home did not go well Monday night, as they lost to the Rock Cats
4-1 despite a quality start from Gabriel Ynoa. After knocking Cats starter Ryan
Carpenter out after 4 innings during his last start, the B-Mets could not get
anything going against him in this game, scratching out only the 2nd
inning run. The Cats got to Ynoa early, making him throw 45 pitches over the
first two innings, and smacking a pair of extra base hits off of him for two
runs in the 2nd inning. Ynoa would settle in nicely as he finished
out his 6 innings, missing bats at an impressive rate over the final 3 innings.
Pedro Lopez turned to Beck Wheeler and Josh Smoker to keep the game close in
relief of Ynoa, but Smoker couldn’t work around a missed catch error in the 9th,
and the Cats added an insurance run to make it a 4-1 game. The run would prove
irrelevant though, as Binghamton never got anything going at the plate late in
the game.
This
series continues Tuesday night at 6:35 PM, with Michael Fulmer (5-2, 2.03 ERA)
scheduled to pitch for the B-Mets.
Travis
d’Arnaud reached on a single in the 1st inning.
Brock
Peterson led off the 2nd inning with a double to LF, and then L.J.
Mazzilli singled him home two batters later.
Gavin
Cecchini hit a one out single in the 3rd inning, and a two out
single in the 5th inning.
Bonus Defense
Gavin
Cecchini was hardly challenged in this game, but he made this nice play in the
1st.

Is a 13.7% Swinging strike rate considered good? Also, great stuff. You really make it much easier to follow the Mets farm system!
