Keeping
track of the hottest minor leaguers in the Mets farm system.
Hitter of the
Week: It’s hard to quiet the now constant calls for his promotion when
Michael Conforto just keeps mashing with the B-Mets. He’s up to 40 games with
Binghamton after 46 with St. Lucie, so hopefully he’s at least on his way to
Las Vegas soon.
Starting Pitcher
of the Week: It’s short season A- ball, but Matt Blackham continued to
overpower the NYPL last week, setting a new personal high with 10 strikeouts
after reaching 9 strikeouts in back-to-back performances earlier this season.
Relief Pitcher of
the Week: Since no relief pitcher really stood out this week, Brooklyn
relievers Corey Taylor and P.J. Conlon share the honors because they’ve yet to
allow a run in the pro’s.
Team of the Week:
The Binghamton Mets were the only team above .500 this past week, as their
pitching continued
to dominate.
