If you have any link tips, suggest them to @Astromets31 on twitter and I’ll add them in.

Check out yesterday’s results here. The Mets two DSL teams start their seasons today, but Astromets Mind will not be posting daily updates from their box scores (way too many names that will never make it stateside), but I’d like to take a weekly peek in on the names of interest.

John Gant had a very nice A+ debut for St. Lucie, although his walk total was still too high. He picked up a pair of strikeouts in each of the first two innings, but Bryan Haar launched a solo blast to LF leading off the 2nd inning. St. Lucie would tie things up ASAP, as Matt Oberste launched his third homerun of the year to LF leading off the bottom of the 2nd. Two batters later, Amed Rosario singled to LF. He’d steal 2B while Sabol was batting, and advanced to 3B when the catchers throw went into CF. He’d come home on a balk with Plaia batting. The game would stay 2-1 until Josh Smoker came in for the 8th and got into trouble with a leadoff walk. With two outs and Walker on 3B, Niko Goodrum singled to tie the game at 2. It would stay tied until the bottom of the 11th, although Kelly Secrest nearly blew the lead in the 10th. In the bottom of the 11th, Matt Oberste led off with a double to deep CF, setting the door for one of the hottest prospects around right now: Dominic Smith. Smith came through big, slugging his first bomb of the year to LF for a walk off win.

Justin Kamplain (1-5, 3.44 ERA) @ Scarlyn Reyes (3-4 3.62 ERA)
vs. Charleston (23-25) at 6:05 PM
Yesterday: W 10-6 (Savannah, Charleston)
Today: W 6-1, Reyes (W, 4-4, 3.32 ERA) – 6 IP, 4 H, R, BB, 6 SO, 96 Pitches (57 Strikes), 3 GO: 5 FO
Lineup
2B – Jonathan Johnson – 1-5, 2B
SS – Luis Guillorme – 2-5, R, SB (5)
RF – Wuilmer Becerra – 2-4, 2 R
3B – Eudor Garcia – 3-4, R, RBI (12), SB (2)
C – Tomas Nido – 2-3, RBI (12), HBP
CF – John Mora – 1-2, R, RBI (24), BB, SF
1B – Jon Leroux – 1-4, R, HR (3), 2 RBI (19), SB (1)
LF – Vicente Lupo – 0-4, 2 SO, CS
DH – Joe Tuschak – 1-4, SO
Bullpen:
Jimmy Duff (H, 4, 3.55 ERA) – 2 IP, 2 H, BB, 3 SO, 3 GO
Alberto Baldonado (2.22 ERA) – 1 IP, H, 2 SO, 1 FO

The Sand Gnats got a great start from Scarlyn Reyes to extend their winning streak to 5 games Saturday night. Charleston jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 1st when Connor Spencer doubled home Jorge Mateo. Mateo had led off with a single and then stole his 36th base through 44 games (in 43 tries). The Gnats started their comeback in the 3rd when their SS singled, stole a base, and came home on a hit – Eudor singled him home to tie the game at 1. They took the lead for good in the 4th behind Thursday nights hero Jon Leroux, who hit his 3rd homerun of the year – he hit a walkoff homerun Thursday night. Tomas Nido had 3 hits Friday night, and followed that with a pair of hits Saturday, including an RBI single to bring home Becerra in the 5th. The Gnats would add one more in the 7th on a double steal that included Eudor Garcia stealing home.

Minors MVP of the Day – DOMINIC SMITH!!! The walk-off bomb was his first bomb of the year, and extended his hit streak to 12-games. Since May 12, Smith is hitting .338/.373/.549 with 12 doubles and a bomb.
Minors Cy of the DayJohn Gant was great in his A+ debut, as he looks to earn his way back onto the B-Mets roster.
