Recap
Michael
Fulmer wasn’t very efficient for Binghamton Friday night, but he limited the
damage, and left during the 6th inning of a tie game. The B-Mets
bullpen took over with one out in the 6th, and was perfect over the
final 3.2 IP, holding on to the one run lead the offense would give them in the
bottom of the frame. Matt Koch has looked great since moving to the bullpen,
offering the B-Mets pen a pitcher that can go through a lineup once, and who is
comfortable sitting between innings. Paul Sewald has been very consistent at
the back of the bullpen, and he picked up his 7th save while
striking out a pair in the 9th.
The
series continues in Binghamton Saturday night at 6:00 PM, with the B-Mets
scheduled to send John Gant to the mound.
The
B-Mets led off the 2nd with back-to-back hits to jump out to a 1-0
lead: Jayce Boyd singled to CF, and David Cooper doubled him home from 1B.
Eudy
Pina hit a one out single in the 5th, stole 2B, and then scored on
an RBI single hit back up the middle off the bat of Gilbert Gomez. Gomez was
caught stealing 2B, or else he might’ve scored when Cecchini picked up his hit
of the game.
Jayce
Boyd picked up his first homerun of the year with one out in the 6th.
