Recap

The B-Mets won another back-and-forth battle Tuesday night, this time using a four-run outburst in the 7th to jump ahead for good. Binghamton took a 2-0 lead in the 1st thanks to some two-out magic, but Harrisburg would jump all over B-Mets starter Rainy Lara in the 2nd, scoring 4 runs off of 6 hits, including a double and a homerun. Former B-Mets starter Matt Koch took over for Lara in the 3rd and was excellent, allowing only the one base runner during his 3 IP. The Mets got a huge day from top prospect Gavin Cecchini, who has been given a bigger role in the offense since Brandon Nimmo went down, batting leadoff daily since. Paul Sewald ran into some 9th inning trouble after the leadoff batter reached on an error by Dustin Lawley, but he’d strand the bases loaded, striking out Mario Lisson to end the game.

Scoring Highlights

The B-Mets strung together 3-straight two-out hits in the 1st to jump out to a 2-0 lead: Josh Rodriguez reached on an infield single, Jayce Boyd doubled to RF, and then David Cooper brought them both home.

Off the base of the wall

Gavin Cecchini led off the 3rd with a double to RF, and then came home to score on a sac fly from J Rod. Boyd picked up his second hit of the game with two outs in the inning.

Just out of the right fielder's reach

Binghamton would start the 7th with 4 consecutive extra base hits to turn a 5-3 deficit into a 7-5 lead. Xorge Carrillo led off with a blast, followed by doubles from Eudy Pina and pinch-hitting Aderlin Rodriguez, and capped with a blast from Cecchini.
