Bullpen:
Vic Black (H, 1, 7.36 ERA) – 0.2 IP, 2 H, R, 1 FO
Mike Hepple (BS, 1)(L, 0-1, 2.25 ERA) – 1.1 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 BB, SO, HR, 2 GO
After getting the type of start you’d expect from a capable major league starter in A+, the St. Lucie Mets saw their lead slip away behind two usually reliable relievers. St. Lucie jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 1st with the help of a leadoff walk. Two batters later, Michael Conforto would single Yeixon Ruiz to 3B, and then Matt Oberste brought him in with a single lined into RF. Colton Plaia added his 6th double of the year in the 2nd, but he’d be stranded at 3B. The Mets doubled their lead with a run in the 4th thanks to an RBI triple from Phil Evans. Ruiz led off the 5th inning with a walk, and then stole his way to 3B, but the Mets couldn’t get him home. Dom Smith led off the 6th with his seventh double since May 12th, but the Mets would strand him at 3B – noticing a troubling pattern here? Gee led off the 7th with his fifth strikeout, but had apparently reached his pitch count, as Vic Black was brought in. Dunedin would smack two doubles for a run off Black, cutting the lead in half. The extremely consistent Mike Hepple replaced Black in the 8th and quickly found himself in danger of blowing the save, as Boomer Collins III led off with a single, went to 2B on a balk, and to 3B on a sac bunt. Hepple wasn’t sweating though, getting a groundout to Rosario with the infield pulled in, and then a pop out to Dom Smith. Phil Evans was called out on strikes to start the 9th, and he did not like the call, which led to an argument, and then his ejection. Hepple stayed in for the 9th, as normal closer Akeel Morris has three saves in the past four days, so he was unavailable. The first batter of the 9th tied the game up with a bomb to left center field. After allowing a single on a groundball back up the middle, Hepple would pick up his only out of the 9th with a strikeout of Mitch Nay. Dawel Lugo followed with a single, moving the winning run to 3B. The Mets chose to intentionally walk pinch hitter L. B. Dantzler, which loaded the baes for Collins III. Hepple followed with a truly Metsian moment, walking in the winning run for a Dunedin walk-off walk.

Bullpen:
Minors MVP of the Day
– Daniel Muno had an uncommon night, as you don't often see a triple, homerun and sac bunt from the same player in one game. He's improved his contact rates significantly so far with Las Vegas (18.9 K% in 2014, 10.7 K% in 2015), no he just needs to start hitting for a little more power (.159 ISO in 2014, .077 ISO in 2015)
Minors Cy of the Day
– After working around a bases loaded situation in the first inning, Casey Meisner was brilliant, allowing only two base runners the rest of the way.
