The B-Mets blew chance after chance in rubber match against Richmond, eventually falling to them in extra innings. They would go 0-7 with runners in scoring position, leaving 15 batters on base in the game. Binghamton scratched out a run in the 4th when a Gilbert Gomez sac fly brought Aderlin Rodriguez home from 3B. Gabriel Ynoa was a groundball machine, working quickly through the first 5 innings before running into trouble in the 6th. Consecutive one-out singles and a groundout put runners on 2B and 3B with two outs, and then the tying run came home when an Ynoa pitch skipped between Cordero’s legs. The B-Mets would get a base runner in each of the remaining innings, but could not get the big hit to take a lead. Matt Koch worked around two singles in the 9th, but Richmond started the 10th with three straight singles off of him to plate the winning run.

Today: L 6-4, Molina (L, 1-4, 4.41 ERA) – 5.2 IP, 11 H, 6 R, BB, 4 SO, 99 Pitches (66 Strikes), 7 GO: 5 FO

SS – Amed Rosario – 1-4, RBI (4), SO
3B – Jhoan Urena – 0-3, RBI (15), SO
DH – Phillip Evans – 0-3, 2 SO
C – Adrian Abreu – 0-2, BB, 2 SO
Bullpen:
Julian Hilario (1.69 ERA) – 1.1 IP, BB, SO, 1 GO, 1 IR – 0 S
Robert Coles (2.40 ERA) – 2 IP, SO, 3 GO: 2 FO

The young St. Lucie batters got off to a quick start in the 1st thanks to a patient approach at the plate, but then got overly aggressive and quiet the rest of the way. The first 6 Mets batters of the game picked up hits, which gave St. Lucie a quick 4-0 lead, but then they’d managed only two more hits during the rest of the game. Marcos Molina was not at his best either, throwing a lot of sliders, but ‘not fooling anyone,’ according to the radio announcer. He got smacked around for 11 hits, including three doubles and a triple off the RF wall. After the 1st, St. Lucie wouldn’t get a runner to 2B again until the 8th inning, but Amed Rosario could not pick up a two-out hit.

Yesterday: L 9-5 (Savannah, Hickory)
Today: Off

Minors MVP of the Day – Eric Campbell had three hits and a homerun for the second straight game, which earns him this 'award' for a second straight day.
Minors Cy of the Day – Gabriel Ynoa has been a little inconsistent this year, so it it nice to see him only allow 3 hits over 7 innings, although the 4 K: 2 BB ratio isn't great.
