If you haven’t heard yet, Steven Matz will start for Las Vegas on Tuesday – the game is in Round Rock, which has very good MiLB.tv coverage. If all goes well and Matz feels well, he may rejoin the Mets sooner than expected. With Matz pitching in the 51s rotation this week, Blake Beavan has been sent down to Double-A and is starting tonight. Mickey Jannis was moved to the 7-day DL to make room for him - likely temporary.

Mets SP prospect Nabil Crismatt was awarded the FSL Pitcher of the Week for his start against Dunedin last Friday. Crismatt matched his career-high with 11 strikeouts in the start, allowing just 3 singles on 104 pitches.

Jeffrey Paternostro reviewed some of the top Fireflies prospects here, and it’s full of interesting stuff about Harol Gonzalez, Desmond Lindsay, Luis Carpio, Blake Taylor, Ali Sanchez, Jake Simon, Ricardo Cespedes, and Brandon Brosher.
