Recapish
The
Rumble Ponies couldn’t complete a come back against Hartford Monday night,
allowing the Yard Goats to leave Binghamton with a split of their four game
series. Ponies starter P.J. Conlon’s changeup game was on point, which led to a
lot of swinging strikes early, but the Yard Goats got to his other stuff for
nine hits, including a double and solo homer. Things might’ve been worse for
Conlon if not for the fine work controlling the run game done by his catcher
Colton Plaia. The Rumble Ponies had chances to chip away at the lead throughout
the game, but they kept running into outs, which left them one run short when
they rallied in the 9th.
