Recapish

The Las Vegas 51s won in easy fashion Saturday night against the Bees, riding a big 5th and a hot start from Gabriel Ynoa to an 8-0 win. The win kept the 51s above .500 (they are now 35-33), and this was a huge bounceback performance for Ynoa after he allowed 10 ER in his last outing.
Ynoa and Salt Lake starter Chris Jones were dealing early, matching zero’s for the first 4 innings before Las Vegas exploded. Ynoa had a couple of Bees baserunners reach 2B during the game, although he didn’t seem to notice. The 3 walks issued are a bit high, especially given Ynoa’s control reputation coming into the season, but they didn’t burn him in this outing.
The 51s had a pair of scoring chances over the first 4 innings, but they wouldn’t break through until the 5th. I break down the scoring details with highlights below, so enjoy! This series wraps up Sunday night at 9:05 PM, with Sean Gilmartin (7-3, 4.83 ERA) scheduled to start for the 51s.

Dilson Herrera and Travis d’Arnaud each singled during their first AB in the 1st inning.

Gavin Cecchini picked up his first hit of the night when he doubled in the 2nd inning.

Cecchini sparked the 51s big rally in the 5th inning by reaching on an infield single. Travis Taijeron followed with a single of his own that moved Cheech up to 3B, and then Nevin Ashley doubled him home. Daniel Muno then put the 51s up 3-0 with a two run single lined into CF. Eric Campbell would double the 51s lead with two outs in the inning when he launched his 2nd PCL homer of the season to LF.
