Recapish
The
Binghamton Mets dropped their opener with the Curve in Altoona Friday night, as
Tyler Pill blew an early 3-2 lead to take the loss. The B-Mets had plenty of
scoring opportunities, but left a small village on the basepaths.
The
Curve have hit a bunch of triples this year and they added 3 more to their
total Friday night against Pill, with each one leading to a run. Austin Meadows
hit the first two and then came around to score both times. Barrett Barnes
added an RBI triple in the 4th to make it a 5-3 game, and that would
be the difference in the game.
I
break down the scoring and pitching details with highlights below, so enjoy!
This series continues Saturday evening at 6:00 PM, with Rainy Lara (2-6, 5.52
ERA) scheduled to pitch for the B-Mets.
MiLB.tv Scoring Highlights
The
B-Mets took a temporary lead with a 3-run 2nd inning. Matt Oberste
sparked the rally with a leadoff single into CF. Victor Cruzado advanced him to
2B with a single two batters later, and then L.J. Mazzilli brought him home
with a single of his own two batters after that. After a Tyler Pill single
loaded the bases with two outs, Derrik Gibson brought home the tying and go
ahead run with the B-Mets fifth single of the frame.
Mazzilli
led off the 7th with a walk and came around to score on Phillip
Evans only hit of the game.
