Recapish
The
B-Mets offensive struggles continued Sunday in Trenton, as the team managed
just one run off 5 less than sharply struck singles. The loss dropped
Binghamton 11 games under .500 for the season and was a 7th straight
loss for starter Mickey Jannis.
Jannis
bounced back from a rough outing in Richmond last week to keep the B-Mets in
this game over 5+ innings. He left trailing 2-1 and a third run was charged to
him with Tim Peterson on the mound in the 6th.
The
B-Mets offense had a very cold weekend in Trenton and could use a boost, so
hopefully Binghamton fans shouldn’t be surprised, but instead be ready for Amed
Rosario coming to NYSEG Stadium soon! Nothing announced yet, but it would make
sense that he gets a promotion now that the FSL 1st half is over and
the All-Star Game has passed.
I
break down the scoring details with highlights, and added some defense and
strikeout highlights too, so enjoy! After the game Binghamton was due to head
back home where they will open a series with the Altoona Curve on Tuesday.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 PM and Tyler Pill (3-7, 3.90 ERA) is expected
to start for Binghamton.
MiLB.tv Scoring Highlights
With
one out and two on in the 2nd inning, L.J. Mazzilli reached on an
infield single and Matt Oberste came home when the throw went down the RF line.
Oberste and Jayce Boyd had singled earlier in the frame.
Oberste
added a second hit in the 4th inning.
Victor
Cruzado added an infield hit with two outs in the 9th.
MiLB.tv Defensive Highlights
Matt
Oberste was back over at 3B Sunday and he started a 5-3 double play in the 3rd
to get speedy Lane Adams at 1B.
