Day one of the minor league season is here for the four Mets full season affiliates! Check out the affiliate roster previews here: Las Vegas 51s, Binghamton Mets, St. Lucie Mets, Columbia Fireflies. ICYMI, check out the top-10 stories in the Mets system from 2015 here.

For those looking to mix Fantasy Baseball and R, I posted a starter function using RSelenium for scraping stats from Fangraphs.

The first Adam Rubin farm report came out, and it was full of solid inside information, as usual. And of course, go check out MetsMinors.net for more coverage!
To the DL:
Binghamton – Jared King and Raywilly Gomez
St. Lucie – Michael Gibbons, Paul Paez, Jonathan Johnson

Columbia – Patrick Mazeika, Natanael Ramos, and Tucker Tharp

Las Vegas 51s coverage
Get some interesting Wally Backman facts and read about his desire to win – did you know he played football and wrestled in college?
News3LV talks about the two relievers with Las Vegas ties: Chase Bradford and Paul Sewald. The Las Vegas Sun also sat down with the first pair of locals to play for the 51s together.
The LVRJ also caught up with pitching coach Frank Viola before the season started, and they talked about the great young arms to go through Las Vegas recently.
Betsy Helfand of the LVRJ talked to Wally about Rafael Montero getting another chance to start for Las Vegas. Good news from that piece: he’s back to 93-94 MPH. Less good news from that piece: Dilson Herrera will be the team’s DH to start the year due to shoulder soreness.
Ron Kantowski of the LVRJ says Cashman Field is haunting the 51s, not because of how they did here last year, but because the facilities are so terrible that players literally walked in shit during one game last year.
Finally, Josh Smoker says he is thrilled just to be with a Triple-A club this year.

The LVRJ had a fans’ guide to the 51s post, and a 5 players to watch post this morning. And despite heavy turnover, Wally said he expects this team to win!

Binghamton Mets
I covered the media day periscope-press conferences of: Pedro Lopez here, and Dominic Smith here.
Lynn Worthy is the man in the B-Mets clubhouse who gives us Mets fans the inside scoop. He talked about the next big wave of prospects, how Robert Gsellman might be next in the Mets pitching pipeline, and the group expected to play in Binghamton this year.
Binghamton.com says despite the weather forecast, the B-Mets are excited for their home opener Thursday.

St. Lucie Mets
Bill Whitehead of the TCPalm previewed the St. Lucie Mets roster.

Columbia Fireflies
Lou Bezjak of The State says shortstop prospect Milton Ramos embraces the lofty expectations placed on him, and Ramos sounds like a kind son.
He also talked to manager Jose Leger and several players about the new stadium, which really looks beautiful.
Brindy McNair of ColaDaily reports that Leger thinks his team is ready for anybody.
Chris Trainor of the freetimes asks: If they build it, will you come? Great quotes from the franchise owner’s, Capital Hardball, and team president, John Katz.
Derek Phillips of WACH reported about the Fireflies from Spirit Communications Park on media day.
Paul Kardasz of Ocala had a chance to catch up with Dash Winningham during media day, and Dash says he’ll play 5 games a week at 1B, with the other 2 splits between DH and rest.

Full post-game recap

Ingram

Acevedo

Minors MVP of the Day – Amed Rosario's walkoff blast definitely earns him the first daily MVP of 2016.
Minors Cy of the Day – Chase Ingram was a little erratic early, but then settled down and had a great start in his SAL debut.
