2016 Monday Morning Mets Minors Players of the Week

Some examples from David Thompson's great first week in the SAL

April 7-17, 2016

Keeping track of the hottest minor leaguers in the Mets farm system. This first post has a week plus because they only play a partial first week in the minors.

Hitter of the Week: David Thompson has been on fire to start the season for Columbia, with 7 extra base hits in his first 45 PA’s in the SAL, including the Columbia Fireflies first ever homerun. Check out some of Thompson’s offensive output, and some nice defensive plays made during the first week of the season, in the GIF’s of the Week – it was Fireflies heavy in the first post.
Starting Pitcher of the Week: Chase Ingram ha a 37.5 K%: 2.5 BB% and 16.6% Swinging strike rate through his first 2 SAL starts.
Relief Pitcher of the Week: Tim Peterson has struck out 10 of 16 batters faced from the St. Lucie bullpen thus far, so he edges teammate Kevin McGowan, who has K’d 13 of 25 batters faced, but has also allowed a few hits.
Team of the Week: With the best record so far, the St. Lucie Mets get the first weekly honor.
