            Check out yesterday’s results here.

Mets Minors did a who’s hot/not for pitchers in the system.

Chase Huchingson was placed on the 7-day DL with what Wally Backman described as a sore elbow before Duane Below’s start Wednesday. They also needed to make a roster move to make room for Below, so hopefully it’s nothing too serious.

Pre-game notes: Duane Below joined the team and made his 2016 debut Wednesday night in Sacramento. Russ Langer reported that Below’s wife just had a baby boy, so congrats to the new parents! T.J. Rivera has played 1B the last two days. Dilson Herrera is riding a 5-game hitting streak, with two hits in four of those games, and three of his doubles. Matt Reynolds has two triples and two homeruns but zero doubles so far. Dario Alvarez had his second straight scoreless appearance Wednesday night, and he’s K’d 4 of 5 batters faced over the two outings.

Pre-game notes: The B-Mets 4-8 batters went 0-16 yesterday behind a great start form Robert Gsellman. The B-Mets are last in the EL with a team batting average of just .217 so far – Portland is closest at .238, Reading leads at .260 - the .309 team OBP is 9th of 12 teams, as is the .340 SLG. Dominic Smith is just 1-15 over his last four games, but that one was a homerun. Victor Cruzado is just 1-16 over his last five games, but he has 0 K: 4 BB over that time, and works the count well nearly every time up.

Dominic Smith singled, stole 2B, and then scored from 2B - use that speed!

First pitch strike to 14/23 batters faced (61%)

Post-game recap: St. Lucie won on a walkoff wild pitch in the thirteenth inning. The door was opened for Charlotte after a ball hit down the line was called fair and went for a triple, but the radio and fans clearly disagreed with the umps call - Corey Taylor's line took a hit as a result of what happened after the call. John Mora matched his hit output from the previous 8 games combined.

Pre-game notes: Paul Paez made his season debut with a scoreless inning Wednesday night after taking Ben Griset’s spot on the active roster – no word on Griset, but he was off to a nice start in the Mets pen. Yesterday’s starter Chris Flexen cannot avoid the big inning so far in 2016. He’s thrown 18.2 IP over his first 3 starts this year, and the opposition has only scored in 3 of those innings: 3 runs in his first start (4th inning), 3 runs in his second start (1st inning), and 4 runs yesterday (3rd inning). Tim Peterson has 11 K: 1 BB with only 1 hit allowed in his first 6.2 IP out of the Mets pen. Tomas Nido was held hitless for just the second time of 2016 yesterday.

Pre-game notes: The Fireflies will be on MiLB.tv this weekend, and I’ll be doing my best to capture any and all highlights! Dash Winningham comes into the series 5-10 over his last 3 games and still looking for his first SAL homerun – I think there’s a very good chance that happens this weekend. Vinny Siena’s on bae streak is up to 14 straight games after drawing two walks in Wednesday morning’s game. He has a 10 K: 15 BB ratio so far, and I’m guessing he gets the 2B job in St. Lucie when Rosario bumps up to Bingo. After 0 K’s in his first outing, P.J. Conlon has 11 K: 0 BB over his last 2 outings (12 IP), and he has a 1.08 ERA so far after allowing just a 0.53 ERA from Brooklyn’s pen last year.

Dash Winningham's all field power

Vinny Siena's 4-hit night and great play to end the game

David Thompson's 4-hit night

Ivan Wilson's double's and homerun

Minors MVP of the Day – Several candidates throughout the system, especially in the Fireflies lineup, but how could I overlook Ivan Wilson's doubles and bomb?
Minors Cy of the Day – Almost tempted to give it to Palsha, but both Ynoa and Oswalt had great starts, with Oswalt's higher K total giving him the edge, if you're keeping track at home.
