Recapish

The 51s struggle to score runs continued in their finale against Sacramento Friday night, and they fell to two games under .500 before returning home for a weekend series with Albuquerque. Sean Gilmartin tossed a gem for the 2nd straight outing, but he allowed a pair of solo homeruns in the 6th inning to surrender the lead. The 51s sent the minimum to the plate in 7 of the 9 innings in this one, which is a terrible recipe for success. Ty Kelly doubled to the warning track in the 6th, Dilson Herrera singled him home two batters later, and that was it for the 51s offense.
I was out all night, so I didn’t have time to follow this game, and I won’t have time to go back and check everything out anytime soon. However, I was able to put together the few highlights from this game, so enjoy them below! The 51s head home to start a series with the Isotopes Saturday night at 10:05 PM, and Stolmy Pimentel is scheduled to take the hill for Las Vegas.

Scoring Highlights

Matt Reynolds picked up his hit on a single lined into LF leading off the 4th inning.

Ty Kelly hit a leadoff ground-rule double in the 6th inning, and then came around to score when Sean Gilmartin and Dilson Herrera followed with singles.

Defensive Highlights

The Gavin Cecchini watch continues! He was tested several times Friday night, and made his second error of the year – it was a fielding mistake, and no one is really concerned about his fielding, it’s his throwing that’s questionable.
