2016 Monday Morning Mets Minors Players of the Week #2

I'm ready for an Amed Rosario B-Mets card, aren't you?

April 18-24, 2016

Keeping track of the hottest minor leaguers in the Mets farm system on a weekly basis.

Hitter of the Week: Considering how well top-Mets prospect Amed Rosario has played so far while repeating the FSL, it clearly won’t be long until he’s the everyday shortstop in Binghamton. Rosario took only one walk over his first 11 starts, but added two more last week to go along with a double, two triples, and the homerun tweeted out above.
Starting Pitcher of the Week: Casey Delgado pitched into the 8th during both of his starts for St. Lucie last week while allowing less than a baserunner per inning. He’s now thrown 21 innings over his first 3 starts, all wins, and he’s eased the burden on the bullpen with his depth the past 2.
Relief Pitcher of the Week: Nearly half of the pitches swung at against Alberto Baldonado were whiffs, as he had another strong week. The hard throwing lefty looked good pitching out of Savannah’s pen last year, and he was selected to pitch for Panama in the WBCQ during Spring Training.
Team of the Week: The Columbia Fireflies had the best record on the farm last week, and they received a bunch of great performances from their pitchers and their batters.

Previous weeks: 4/7-4/17
