Mets Series in Review: vs. Barves

Dates: July 7-10
Results: Win 3/4
 W 4-3, W 8-3, W 4-1, L 3-1
Current Record: 42-50, 8 GB in East and Wild Card

Recaps:

MVMet: It was a strong team effort led by great starting pitching, and that’s why the starting trio of Dice-K, ∂eGrom and Gee are co-MVP’s for the series, combining to allow one run in 21 IP on 19 H with 18 SO: 3 BB, and 22 GO: 12 FO.
LVMet: Colon gave the Mets a good effort, but it wasn’t good enough, and there aren’t many other options. Abreu and Young went hitless, but combined for seven at-bats. Granderson made a lot of outs, but he also hit two homeruns during the first two games.

Bullpen:

The bullpen has been one of the more consistent parts of the Mets roster lately, but they had a rough series against Atlanta. The All-Star break should give every member of the pen some much needed rest.

Looking Ahead:

The Mets will host the Marlins before the All-Star break – let’s hope they can go into the break on a high note!
