Las Vegas 51s Series in Review: @Salt Lake

Highlights from Thursday's game at the bottom

Dates: July 17-20, 2014
Results: Split 4
Current Record: 58-44, 1st place, 9 game lead

Recaps:

Thursday – LVRJ, Salt Lake
Friday – LVRJ
Saturday – LVSun, Salt Lake
Sunday – LVRJ, Salt Lake

MV51: Josh Satin had a great series, providing a lot of the offense against Salt Lake.
LV51: He may have great stuff, but Thor was the least effective 51s player during the series, allowing all seven runs in the first game, which was one run too many for the offense to overcome.

Bullpen:

The bullpen was not really the problem for the 51s this past series, as they managed a 2.92 ERA and more than 3 IP/game. There are some nice young right-handed relief pitchers for the Mets to call on from the 51s pen.

Some Highlights from Thursday’s Game

I might go back for more highlights, and if I go back to cover Mazzoni’s start it will go at the bottom, but I’ll have a lot of fresher MiLB.tv coverage this week to keep me busy.

Flores led off the 4th inning of Thursday’s game with this triple, which was uploaded to MiLB.tv. So instead of a gif, enjoy the full video of the Flores triple.

M∂D got things started in the 5-run 8th on Thursday with this triple.

Matt Reynolds would pick up this RBI single in the top of the 8th Thursday to make it a 7-2 game.

Kevin Plawecki came through with this bases loaded RBI single later in the inning, making it a 7-6 game at the time.
