Other Minor News

            Check out yesterday’s results here.

Astromets Mind won’t be able to do much with the 51s recent home series against Albuquerque, but I want to track pitch velocity of Matthew Bowman throughout his last start if I have time this week. That said, you can check out these great gif highlights from the series at Reno

The Las Vegas Review Journal (LVRJ) had a nice piece on how hot Wilmer Flores has been for the 51s since his recent demotion, with a few quotes from Wilmer and manager Wally Backman. Wilmer was demoted to get more consistent at-bats, and he’s been on fire – after an 0-5 in his first game back, Wilmer has a 17-game hit streak (.382/.405/.779 with 6 doubles and 7 homeruns over 74 PA).

Top Mets prospects Noah Syndergaard and Kevin Plawecki should both be playing in the Futures game Sunday evening at 5 PM ET.

The Trentonian had a nice piece about the nice atmosphere that is Cyclones baseball in Coney Island.
