Recap with gifs:
Hansel
Robles just barely got out of the 1st inning (or an out in the 4th),
putting the B-Mets in a hole too big to climb out of. Dustin Lawley continued
his hot hitting with two solo-blasts – including his HR in the 9th
Monday night, Lawley had hit a homerun in three straight PA’s. Everyone reached
base at least once, and only Xorge Carrillo failed to pick up a hit, but their
combined effort were not enough to overcome the lead built up against Robles. Highlights
in gifs below – offense first and then the bullpen strikeouts.
To start, Lawley
had two homeruns:
Leading off the 2nd.
With one out in the 4th.
Taijeron
hit his 22nd double of the season off the CF wall in the 5th,
but he’d be stranded at 3B.
Taijeron with a long double off the wall |
A tall wall was the only reason Taijeron didn't add a blast to his total |
Boyd
tripled in Burgamy from 1B with two outs in the 6th.
Herrera
led off the 8th with a double into the LF corner.
Burgamy
followed with an RBI single to RF.
After
the next two batters struck out, Burgamy stole 2B on a 1-2 ball to Nimmo. Nimmo
would single him in on the next pitch (though this is a questionable non-error
in my opinion).
Ryan
Fraser was the first to relieve Robles and he’d finish with three strikeouts:
Mike Kvasnicka swinging for the second out of the 5th.
Matt Koch swinging to end the 5th.
Aaron Hicks swinging for the second out of the 6th.
Adam
Kolarek came out of the B-Mets pen next and would strikeout the final two Rock
Cats batters of the night:
Eddie Rosario swinging.
Kennys Vargas looking.
