Gif Highlights:
The
pitching tandem of Valdez and Gaither Bumgardner both struggled against Staten
Island on Saturday night, putting the Cyclones in a hole that was too big to
get out of. Below are the top Cyclones highlights of the game. The MiLB.tv
coverage was better than the last time that the Cyclones played in Staten
Island, but not for every pitch.
Joe Tuschak leads off the game with a single.
After
Amed Rosario reached on an error, Urena drove in Tuschak with this RBI single.
Juan
Urbina had to relieve Valdez in the 1st inning and stayed on for the
2nd. He’d managed one strikeout, of Anthony Chavez looking.
Urena
hit a one-out double in the top of the 3rd, but was stranded there.
Amed
Rosario got four groundball chances at SS in the field, the first three came in
the 5th and 6th innings:
He handled this groundout to end the 5th.
He made this play for the second out in the 6th.
He airmailed this throw to keep the 6th inning
alive on the next play.
After
Urena walked leading off the 7th, Michael Katz lined this single
into RF.
Bernal
followed with this three-run blast off the scoreboard in LF.
The
Mets 6th round pick from the 2014 draft, Tyler
Moore, followed the blast with this single up the middle.
The
Mets 22nd round pick from the 2014 draft, Will Fulmer, made his
debut for the Cyclones, striking out both times. I had never seen Fulmer, but
here is tape of him swinging (and missing).
Rosario
almost made the play on this grounder into the hole off the bat of Devyn
Bolasky leading off the 7th.
The
Mets 7th round pick from the 2014 draft, Brad Wieck, would strike
out the side in the 7th, but only one of the strikeouts was gifable.
Wieck got Renzo Martini to strikeout looking for the first out of the inning.
Edioglis
Villasmil pitched the 8th for Brooklyn and struck out the first two
batters he faced:
Radley Haddad swinging.
Jose Javier swinging.
