Other News
I
had never noticed this roster.pdf
link on the www.lv51s.com roster page before
last night, but it says that Scott Rice and Cesar Puello are currently on the
minor league DL. After consulting todays game notes, it appears the moves are retroactive to June 24.
Dillon Gee is
scheduled to make a rehab start in Brooklyn Sunday. He will be pitching
against the SI Yankees, who he’s faced one other time, on September 1, 2007,
which was his second to last start for the Cyclones. Here is some video of
him pitching for Brooklyn back in 2007, in case you forgot what that looked
like.
Toby
Hyde offered a nice
report on Dilson Herrera, suggesting he is going to make Daniel Murphy
expendable.
B-Mets radio announcer Tim Heiman
interviewed Brandon Nimmo before the game Friday night – listen
here. When asked about the biggest differences between A+ and AA, Nimmo
noted the command of the pitchers and the location of their pitches, and that
relievers/specialists are noticeably better. When asked to describe himself, Nimmo
said he has more pop than people think and doesn’t mind taking a walk –
controlled aggression is what he called it.
