Mets 2B Daniel Murphy has 23 hits in his last 10 games. That's a lot, which means it makes for a cool heat map pic.twitter.com/CoerjUbGLw

Recaps:
MVMet: Daniel
Murphy has been the Mets offense the past few weeks and their most consistent
hitter all season. I love watching Murph with the Mets, so I’m happy he’s still
around, but I’m surprised there appeared to be little interest in him at the
trade deadline.
LVMet: Jon Niese
has not been as sharp since he returned from the DL, with a 5.76 ERA in 25 IP
over 4 starts. After a rough first inning Wednesday, he kept things close until
the 6th, when Danny Espinosa connected for a three-run bomb. The
offense never showed up Wednesday night, but it didn’t help that they were
climbing uphill from the start.

Carlos
Torres allowed the Nats to score in both of his appearance over the weekend,
the only Mets reliever to allow any runs. The homerun he allowed in extra’s
Thursday afternoon was especially hard to watch, as it was a big blow to any
chance the Mets had at a late season playoff push. Hopefully this calf problem
isn’t a lingering issue for Mejia, and there is no reason to push Mejia with
the Mets so far out of the playoff races.
Looking Ahead:
Friday at 7:05 PM: Bartolo Colon (10-9, 4.12 ERA) @ A.J.
Burnett (6-11, 4.16 ERA)
Saturday at 7:05 PM: Dillon Gee (4-4, 3.73 ERA) @Cole Hamels
(6-6, 2.42 ERA)
Sunday at 1:35 PM: Zack Wheeler (7-8, 3.48 ERA) @Kyle
Kendrick (5-11, 4.74 ERA)
Monday at 1:05 PM: Jon Niese (5-8, 3.41 ERA) @David Buchanan
(6-5, 4.39 ERA)
