ICYMI
while I was at the beach, there were a number of roster moves (From the 51s, BMets and Cyclones game notes): Jeremy Hefner
was officially moved off of rehab and onto the St. Lucie roster. John Lannan
was promoted to AAA, pushing Matthew Bowman back to AA – Bowman has had three
strong starts in AAA (one rain shortened), but the Las Vegas 51s haven’t had a
consistent rotation spot open for him. Kevin Plawecki came off the AAA DL and
Juan Centeno was moved to AA three days later. Hansel Robles came off the AA DL
the same day Ryan Fraser went on it for a right ankle contusion (Fraser came off today). Wilfredo Tovar
was activated from the DL and is back starting with AA. Brandon Allen went on
and off the AAA DL, and Carlos Alvarado is currently on the AAA DL. Darrell
Ceciliani was suspended for a game. Kai Gronauer and Rylan Sandoval were placed
on the AA DL with contusions on their right legs. Jack Leathersich was promoted
to AAA. Luis Arrizurieta was moved from Brooklyn to Kingsport – catcher was a
crowded spot in Brooklyn. Octavio Acosta was promoted from Brooklyn to
Savannah (2.80 ERA over 45 IP with
Brooklyn – 33 H, 36 SO: 11 BB, 2 HR, 5 HBP). John Mora was promoted from the GCL Mets to Brooklyn – the 21-year
old started the year with a 17-game hit streak and hit safely in 21 of the first
24 games (.376/.480/.518 with 9 XBH, 10 SO: 14 BB in 102 PA), but had been
struggling to find hits over the 8 games prior to his promotion (just 3-25).
Martires Arias was promoted from Kingsport to Brooklyn. Dario Alvarez was promoted from Savannah to St. Lucie. Sandoval was later granted his release.
