Mets Series in Review: vs. Braves

Three straight sweeps!

Dates: April 21-23
Results: W
Current Record: 13-3, 1st Place, 4.5 Games Ahead of Atlanta

MVMet: Wilmer Flores had a very strong series, with a hit in every game and his third homerun. He is 9-23 on his current 6-game hitting streak and is up to 128 wRC+ for the season.
LVMet: There’s really only one choice for this award, as Michael Cuddyer was the only starter who didn’t pick up a hit, although he still contributed with 3 walks and an RBI groundout.

Bullpen

            0.00 ERA, 7.1 IP, 2 H, 4 BB, 7 SO, 7 GO: 2 FO, 5 IR – 0 S

Can’t complain about a perfect series from the bullpen, although they issued a few more walks than we’ve become accustomed to from this Mets staff. Surprising that Hansel Robles did not make his debut, as now he’ll be doing so in a bandbox during the hyped up Subway Series – with his reputation as a high adrenaline pitcher, he might just hit 100 MPH if comes into the series. Jeurys Familia has been great so far this year, especially since being moved to the closer’s role, allowing only one base runner during his two saves this week.

Looking Ahead

The Mets head across town for the Yankees Stadium portion of the Subway Series this weekend before heading down to Miami for 3 against the Marlins.
