Mets Minor League Daily – April 16, 2015

Updated throughout the day and night

Minor News

            Check out yesterday’s results here.

News about the potential sale of the B-Mets franchise continues to come out: Judge extends restraining order against B-Mets negotiating the sale.

Lynn Worthy previewed the B-Mets next series against the Harrisburg Senators – it’s their home opener tonight. The B-Mets are giving away championship season DVD’s to everyone who shows up.

SavannahNow profiles the Sand Gnats new youthful manager Jose Leger.

Toby Hyde profiled 4 prospects with a chance to be useful utility bench guys.

As I mentioned yesterday, Kiley McDaniel is reporting that the Mets have a $1.8 million deal in place with IFA prospect Gregory Guerrero, who you can preview in this video. Kiley had a second post today that suggests the Mets also have a deal in place for SS Andrew Gimenez (since last August or September).

I’m still worried this might have been a mistake, but the B-Mets are listed among teams participating in MiLB.tv coverage this year, which is awesome!

Robert Brender recently had a Q&A session with minor league reliever Zach Thornton.

Minors MVP of the Day – So many options today, but hard to ignore T.J. Rivera's perfect day, and it's a good space to give a shoutout to his great start - .500/.517/.571 through 29 PA batting in the 3-hole. Hat tip to Pedro Perez hitting a double and his first home run for Savannah.
Minors Cy of the Day – The starters didn't really stand out, but the Mets relief 'prospects' continue to excel at all levels (except for Domingo Tapia), and Hansel Robles had arguably the best day of all (best that I saw), striking out 4 in a row over 1.2 IP.
