Dominic Smith returned to St. Lucie’s lineup Friday night after missing all week due to a cold, but appeared to aggravate something on a dive back into 2B, and then was removed early from the 17-inning affair.

The Rangers waived Logan Verrett last night, which means he’ll be offered back to the Mets if he clears waivers.

The B-Mets again denies there was a contract to sell the club.

Nathan Dominitz says that with each season, Sand Gnats’ Sabol gets more local.

Minors MVP of the Day – Michael "GET ME OUT OF THE FSL" Conforto needs to get out of the FSL already!!!!!!!! Launched a 2R-HR in the 6th and then hit a double off the base of the CF wall in the 9th. They'd walk him intentionally in the 11th, which was the 4th intentional walk in two games for Conforto. If they're not going to pitch to him, Mets will have no choice but to promote him.
Minors Cy of the Day – Although he raised his ERA a little bit, Whalen had arguably his best start of the year, doubling his K total, and picking up 14 groundouts in 7.2 IP.
