Recap:
After
struggling to score over the final two games in Erie, the B-Mets exploded for 9
runs and 17 hits in their home opener thanks to hits from everyone but catcher
Xorge Carrillo – even PH Eudy Pina singled and scored – including multi-hit
days from 6 players. Harrisburg jumped on starter Rainy Lara for a run in the 1st,
as leadoff hitter Adrian Sanchez led off with a double and scored on an RBI
single from Tony Renda two batters later. But the B-Mets jumped on starter
Paolo Espino for 3 runs of their own in the 1st – thanks to doubles
from Brandon Nimmo and Dustin Lawley – and then never looked back. Lara worked
through the 2nd and 3rd innings quickly, but allowed a
walk, double and single in the 4th, which made it a 4-3 game. Lara
would yield to the bullpen after a bounce back 5th, finishing the
day with his 2nd strike out of the game – both were against Kevin
Keyes. Chase Huchingson, Paul Sewald and Jon Velasquez allowed only 3 base
runners in their 4 innings, with 5 SO. After the Harrisburg bullpen came in,
the Mets bats tacked on 5 runs over 3 innings to give Bingo a comfortable lead
by the 9th. Gabriel Ynoa takes the mound in game 2 of this series at
7:05, coming off 7 scoreless innings in his first start. Hopefully the MiLB.tv
coverage will continue, as this was awesome news.
Brandon
Nimmo got the 1st inning rally started with this one-out double.
T.J.
Rivera started his perfect day with this RBI single to bring Nimmo home.
After
Jayce Boyd walked, Dustin Lawley brought them both home with this two-run
double.
Gavin
Cecchini led off the 2nd with this single to LF.
After
the next two batters were retired – King on a force out – Nimmo hit this
infield single.
Rivera
would again come through with an RBI single in the 2nd, lining this
one into CF.
Josh
Rodriguez hit this solo blast leading off the 6th.
Cecchini
picked up his second double of the season two batters later, but Gomez and King
followed with strikeouts.
Rivera
hit this one-out double in the 7th, his second extra base hit of the
season.
Jayce
Boyd followed with his second single of the night, this line drive to RF, which
advanced Rivera to 3B.
Lawley would bring T.J. home on this
single lined into CF.
Eudy
Pina came in as a pinch-hitter for Paul Sewald with one out in the 8th
and reached on an infield single to SS. Jared King followed with this double to
RF.
Rivera completed his day with another RBI single, this time on a line
drive to RF. Rivera would come home from 2B two batters later, when the SS
threw the ball away on a Lawley grounder.
