Recap:
The
Las Vegas 51s evened their record Sunday when they came out on top in a
back-and-forth affair with Fresno. 51s starter Tyler Pill had a rough start to
his outing, but quickly settled down to retire 13 of 15 batters heading into
the 6th. Pill would allow the first two to reach before getting an
out in the 6th, but despite the low pitch count, Wally chose to go
to the pen with a 4-2 lead. Scott Rice would come in first and fail to get the
lefty out. Robles would get the next chance, but he’d walk the bases loaded and
allow a two-run double before ending the frame. But the 51s bats would bounce
right back, taking the lead back with a 3-run top of the 7th. They’d
add an insurance run in the 9th, which turned out to be huge, as
Cody Satterwhite ran into a little trouble picking up his first career AAA
save. Las Vegas travels to Sacramento where Noah Syndergaard is scheduled to
make his first start of 2015 Monday night at 10 PM.
After
falling behind in the bottom of the first, Cory Vaughn quickly tied things up
with this 2-0 homerun in the top of the 2nd.
Eric
Campbell led off the 4th with this solo blast – he’s been red hot
for Las Vegas.
Dilson
Herrera picked up his first hit of 2015 (and in AAA) leading off the 6th.
After
advancing to 2B on a wild pitch, and tagging up to go to 3B on a sac fly from
Matt Reynolds, Dilson would score on this 2-out hit from Alex Castellanos.
After
Johnny Monell led off the 7th with a walk, Kyle Johnson followed with
this single into LF – he’d score on a bases loaded walk.
Reynolds
finally picked up his first hit of the season with one out in the 9th.
Soup
followed with an RBI triple to give Las Vegas an insurance run.
