Recapish

With some Major League talent in town, the Binghamton Mets put on a show for the locals to win game one of their double-header with New Hampshire 10-4 Friday evening. Juan Lagares and Jose Reyes were at the top of a lineup that threw a hit party in the early game, but it was the two guys at the bottom of the lineup (L.J. Mazzilli and Maikis De La Cruz) that came through with the BIG hits. The offensive explosion came in support of Tyler Pill, who went the distance for Binghamton.

Pill induced a groundout to shortstop from each of the first two batters of the game, but found himself down 2-0 just two batters later, as Rowdy Tellez took him deep for his 11^th bomb of the season. Pill retired 7 straight after that as his teammates built up an 8-2 lead.

Recapish

The Las Vegas 51s started their road trip on a high note Thursday night in Tacoma, taking the opener of their series with the Rainier 7-3 thanks to some big flies. Two 51s recently demoted from the Mets made the biggest impact, as both Michael Conforto and Kevin Plawecki went deep with men on base for Las Vegas. Starter Darin Gorski was much more effective in his second start with the team, cruising through most of his 7 innings.

Recapish

The Binghamton Mets dropped the first game of their homestand Thursday night, taking a 4-2 loss to the Fisher Cats before this series gets crazy. Because of some rainouts earlier in the season, these two teams are scheduled to play at least 28 innings over 4 games during the next two days, so who knows what will happen.

Outside of some late hits from Amed Rosario and Dominic Smith, the Binghamton Mets offense was nonexistent Thursday night. Juan Lagares singled to start the 4^th and that was it. With his 0-4 day, Jose Reyes is now 1-17 since resigning with the Mets organization. This comes after he went 8-17 with a homer and two stolen bases during his final series as a member of the Rockies organization, which came against the Las Vegas 51s. Reyes did play some very nice defense over at 3B, handling the first few challenges hit his way with no problems.

Recapish

The Brooklyn Cyclones blew an early lead to drop their rubber match with State College 10-4 Thursday night. Cyclones starter Joel Huertas was able to limit the damage early, but then the Spikes broke this game open with 7 runs off him between the 5^th and 6^th innings. Meanwhile, State College’s starter Ronnie Williams retired 9 straight to start the game before Brooklyn exploded for 3 against him in the 4^th, but then he threw 4 more scoreless frames while running his strikeout total to 10!

Officially, it was bring your dog to the park night, but the Spikes were throwing a singles party of their own. They finished with 12 singles in the game, 10 of which came against Huertas, who has struggled with hits allowed early this season.
