            The Las Vegas 51s jumped ahead big early in El Paso Saturday night only to be rudely reminded that no lead is safe in the PCL, as the Chihuahuas came back from down seven to take an 11-7 win over the 51s in game two of this four game set. 51s starter P.J. Conlon was perfect over the first two innings while his teammates built up a 7-0 lead, but then El Paso started smacking him around in the 3^rd and knocked him out in the 4^th. It was as if someone turned a switch that controlled offense before the 3^rd inning after accidentally leaving it pointing at the 51s over the first two innings. The 51s bats went quiet after the 2^nd and El Paso exploded for eleven runs against three 51s pitchers over the next four innings.

            The Las Vegas 51s took the opener of a four-game set in El Paso 7-1 Friday night behind a great performance from starter Corey Oswalt. The 51s gave Oswalt an early lead and he gave the team a much better performance than in his first start against El Paso on opening day. After a few huge games in Albuquerque, Ty Kelly stayed hot in this one with a two-hit, two-RBI, one-double performance. David Thompson also kept heating up at the plate and is now 6 for his last 13 after starting the season in a 2-14 rut. With the win, Las Vegas has its first mini ‘winning streak’ of the 2018 season.

            The Las Vegas 51s picked up their second win of the season Thursday afternoon in Albuquerque, avoiding a sweep with an offensive outburst for the second straight game. This time the 51s pitchers kept the Isotopes batters in check, which led Las Vegas to an easy 10-3 win. Starter Chris Flexen performed much better in this outing than in his first and Ty Kelly was still on fire from Wednesday night's game, providing three runs batted in and three runs scored. Zach Borenstein also stayed hot in Albuquerque and Brandon Nimmo had a multi-hit game in his first start for Las Vegas this year (and possibly his last one for awhile).
