*11.1% Swinging strike rate
First pitch strike to 17/27 batters faced (63%)
Pre-game notes: Per
Russ Langer, Duane Below is expected to the team and makes his 2016 debut in
Sacramento Wednesday night. No word on when he last threw or the exact details
of his absence, but he will be a welcome addition to the rotation if he can
match his 2015 PCL output. Dilson Herrera has a 4-game hitting streak since
joining field action, and he has multiple hits in 3 of those games. The archive still wasn't up by noon the next day, so the recap for Tuesday's game is running late - I have it written, but want to post it with the highlights.

*13.9% Swinging strike rate
First pitch strike to 15/24 batters faced (63%)
Pre-game notes: The
B-Mets were held hitless into the 6th yesterday, and only managed
the 2 hits during that frame. Gsellman has allowed just 7 hits and 3 walks over
his first 12.1 IP over the year, and he has 9 K so far. Jeff McNeil has been
out with an abdominal strain – wonder if this is related to all that extra
weight he added this offseason.

*10.9% Swinging strike rate
First pitch strike to 19/29 batters faced (66%)
Pre-game notes: Jacob
deGrom tossed a simulated game down in St. Lucie yesterday – details in my
recap. Josh Edgin continued his rehab with a perfect 1st inning.
Amed Rosario hit his league leading 4th triple of the year, but had
a rough day in the field yesterday. Chris Flexen has 11 K: 3 BB in his first
12.2 IP, and he’s held opponents to a .234 average so far. St. Lucie has only scored one run while Flexen has been on the mound so far this year.

*11.8% Swinging strike rate
First pitch strike to 13/22 batters faced (59%)
Pre-game notes: First
morning game at Spirit Communications Park. P.J. Conlon picked up 5 strikeouts
last time out after 0 in his first outing, and has only issued 1 walk through
10.2 IP. The Fireflies won 13-1 in the series opener, but then lost 7-0 last
night, so let’s see if these two teams can keep things interesting Wednesday
morning.
Minors MVP of the Day
– Matt Reynolds had 3 hits including a bomb for Las Vegas, which is almost always enough for the 'award'.
Minors Cy of the Day
– Tough choice between Gsellman and Conlon, but Conlon kept Charleston off the board, so he gets the nod.
