            Check out yesterday’s results here. Jeff Glenn was moved to the Las Vegas 51s DL so Rafael Montero could be activated. Mickey Jannis activated and Casey Delgado moved to the 7-day DL in Binghamton.

            Steve Sypa of Amazin’ Avenue gave a nice overview of what to expect from this year’s draft.

            The Mets are the only team dealing with injuries, as the Las Vegas 51s lost a key member of their bullpen while in Round Rock: Dave Roseboom hurt his foot and it wasn’t yet clear the extent of the damage, but his Manager doesn’t expect him back soon.

            Someone at scout.com jumps on the “promote Tebow for the moneyz” argument (Mets don’t make money off of Columbia, they do off of St. Lucie), suggesting he could take Nick Sergakis’ spot because Sergakis hasn’t been hitting well lately anyway. For the season, Tebow has a lower average and fewer homer’s than Sergakis in more games played while at a lower level. Plus, Sergakis has a .916 OPS with 11 XBH in his last 21 games played for St. Lucie.

I don’t have the time and probably wouldn’t cover the money aspect of Tebow anyway, but I pointed out the financial impact for the Mets in the comments section at SBNation two weeks ago, when the “big” Tebow story was how much additional money he was making each SAL team. More importantly, the Mets have known about this all along, so this sudden reaction around the internet (google ‘Tim Tebow promotion’ and you’ll see what I mean) that the Mets will promote him soon for the extra cash is just bad baseball coverage - they haven't denied that $ was part of the reason they signed Tebow, but if it was all about the $, Tebow would've been playing for St. Lucie from the start. Not to mention the poor takes in response to one good or bad week from the former NFL star.

            Pitching and defense shined over offense Sunday in Lexington, as these two teams combined for just seven runs while splitting a double-header. Fireflies starter Harol Gonzalez worked effectively and efficiently for the Fireflies in game two, but his offense gave him zero breathing room, which set up a Legends walkoff in the 7^th. Desmond Lindsay had a very nice game, finishing with a web gem in the 1^st and bringing home the Fireflies only run with an RBI double in the 5^th.

            After a rainout Saturday, the Columbia Fireflies and Lexington Legends played two 7-inning games on Sunday afternoon. Twenty-year-old lefty Jake Simon got the nod for the Fireflies and set a season high with 5.1 IP. He handed a 3-0 lead to Adonis Uceta in the 6^th and Uceta stranded the bases loaded on back-to-back strikeouts to keep the shutout intact. Dash Winningham provided the offense for Columbia with his fifth homer of the year in the 4^th, which was the only other frame either side got anything going.

            The Binghamton Rumble Ponies welcomed an old friend Sunday evening, as Seth Lugo returned to the park where he made his name for his second rehab start of 2017. Lugo broke out as a prospect while with the Binghamton Mets in 2015, and the Mets faithful were loud in their support of him throughout the game. Unfortunately for Binghamton, Lugo’s control hit a speed bump in the 4^th inning, which opened the door for a Hartford rally. The Yard Goats finished with three runs in the 4^th, which were the only three runs they scored, and just enough support for Hartford starter Ryan Castellani. With all the eyes there to see the big leaguer, Castellani stole the show with 8 very sharp innings on just 85 pitches.

            The Las Vegas 51s finally snapped their losing streak Sunday afternoon before it could reach nine games, all it took was five perfect rehab innings from Mets starter Steven Matz  to get it done. Matz was night-and-day different from his first rehab start with Las Vegas (GIF’s within, not below), when he struggled with command and Russ Langer was calling most of his pitches upper-80’s.
