            The St. Lucie Mets dropped their third straight in Bradenton Sunday afternoon, taking a 7-6 loss in extra’s after battling back from four-down in the 9^th. St. Lucie starter Harol Gonzalez was fantastic in his first start of 2018, allowing just one unearned run over six innings on just 72 pitches. Unfortunately for Harol, the St. Lucie bats couldn’t get much going against Bradenton starter Luis Escobar, so he left in a 1-1 tie. The Marauders bats came alive against the St. Lucie pen, jumping on Alex Palsha for four runs in the 8^th, as they appeared to take control of the game. However, the Mets weren’t going down without a fight, and they put up a fortunate four runs of their own in the 9^th to force extras. But the new extra inning rule opened the door for offense from both sides in the 10^th, and Bradenton was able to walk off in the bottom half to clinch a series win.

            The St. Lucie Mets lost a rain-soaked affair Saturday evening in Bradenton to fall under .500 for the first time in 2018. Mets starter Gabriel Llanes struggled in the 1^st and then a long rain delay kept him from going deeper into the game. The St. Lucie pen was great over seven innings of relief, but the 1^st inning deficit proved too big for the Mets bats to overcome. Two current Mets prospects went deep in this game – Ian Strom and Dash Winningham – but it was the former Mets prospects’ (Alfredo Reyes) homer that made the difference.
