            The Las Vegas 51s were forced into a tight spot Friday night after two of their pitchers were sent to NY as standby’s, including the pitcher scheduled to start Friday night (Sean Gilmartin). Spot starter Stolmy Pimentel couldn’t hold the 4-0 lead handed to him in the 1^st inning, and the Sky Sox made this game a sudden laugher after exploding for 7 runs in the 5^th inning.

            Pimentel has really struggled for Las Vegas this year, so I wonder how many more looks he gets. He might be interesting in the bullpen, but he keeps getting forced into starting duty instead.

            Wally took Brandon Nimmo out as part of a double-switch when he brought in Jeff Walters in the 5^th inning. I’d guess he was hoping to get more than one inning out of Walters, but Walters struggled just to finish the 5^th.

Recap

            It was an up-and-down game for Las Vegas Saturday night: they spent the first half of the game sitting pretty, and then the second half trying to claw their way back on top. The 51s provided starter Stolmy Pimentel with 3 runs early, and he did a good job protecting the lead over his 5+ innings, but things fell apart for Las Vegas in the 6^th. They still had a chance to pull back ahead and win this game, but more sloppy play in the 8^th opened the door for a fifth Isotopes run, and Las Vegas couldn’t match that tally in this one.
