Recap

            The Altoona Curve jumped ahead early against Binghamton Friday night, and then they never took the foot off the gas pedal. B-Mets starter Robert Gsellman did not have his customary control throughout, and his middle infielders missed a few groundball out possibilities behind him early, which made it easy for the Curve to take a 5-0 lead after two. Meanwhile, Curve starter Steven Brault tossed one of his best games of the year for Altoona, throwing 8 shutout innings with only the 3 singles allowed. The only time multiple B-Mets reached in the same inning was during the 5^th when Victor Cruzado and Jared King hit back-to-back singles, and their other hit (from Albert Cordero) was erased by a double play. The B-Mets did just clinch a postseason entry two games ago against Reading, and they did have 2 players making their first AA start (Jeff McNeil and Victor Cruzado), but those are weak excuses for only 3 singles in one game.

            This series continues Saturday night at 7:05 PM, with Rainy Lara (8-5, 3.53 ERA) scheduled to pitch opposite Zack Dodson (7-10, 3.83 ERA).
