Recapish

The Las Vegas 51s let their tacos get a little toasty early Tuesday night before stuffing them full of runs in the 4th. Fresno – playing as the Tacos instead of the Grizzlies – would come back to tie the game at five in the 6th, but that tie was short-lived, and the 51s pen did the rest. Kyle Regnault went a season high 3 IP for Las Vegas in the win and Jamie Callahan bounced back from a rough last outing in El Paso to earn his first save since the Mets traded for him.

Recapish

The Las Vegas 51s bats stayed hot in Salt Lake for their second double-digit run performance of this series, taking a 12-7 win to gain a 2-1 series edge. Both starters struggled, but Donovan Hand was able to settle in and give the 51s some length while his teammates unloaded a season’s worth of frustration on the Bees pitching staff. Down 5-0 after two innings, the 51s scored nine runs over the next two innings and never let up after that, which should be the motto in the PCL. Cesar Puello hit a monster homerun off Hand and had an overall good game terrorizing his former team again, but his efforts couldn’t even keep this one close.

Recapish

A rainout Tuesday forced the Binghamton Rumble Ponies to play yet another double-header on Wednesday and the Richmond Flying Squirrels took the opener 8-2. The game was close until the end, when the Flying Squirrels doubled their score with four in the 7th. Donovan Hand pitched well over his five innings, but left trailing 3-1 after just 71 pitches. This was likely so that Manager Luis Rojas could get his relievers some work, which has been hard to find with the Binghamton starters consistently going deep into games, but backfired when Richmond torched Scarlyn Reyes for four runs over his inning-plus of work.
