Recapish

The Binghamton Mets twice battled back against the Hartford Yard Goats to take the series opener in Binghamton by a final of 7-5 Thursday night. B-Mets starter Tyler Herron was smacked around for 11 hits during his 5+ innings of work, but he limited the Yard Goats to just 5 runs, and his teammates in the pen kept Hartford scoreless over the final 3+ frames. This allowed the B-Mets to charge ahead for good when Phillip Evans powered a four run 7th inning rally with his fourth bomb of the season.

Recapish

After taking the opener against New Hampshire rather handily Saturday evening, the Binghamton Mets could barely scratch out any hits in the nightcap, and found themselves on the wrong end of a laugher. Tyler Herron’s organizational debut did not go well, as he was charged with 9 of the runs allowed over his 3+ innings of work.

Recapish

The Binghamton Mets jumped out to a big 7-0 lead early Sunday and then rode a strong start from Tyler Pill to finish off their sweep of Richmond. The sweep comes after the B-Mets lost 9 of their last 10, and coincides with the arrival of top Mets prospect Amed Rosario.
Although Rosario would finish with an RBI single among his two hits Sunday, the man in front of him was a big driving force in the scoring outburst. L.J. Mazzilli is having his best month at Double-A and that continued over the first two innings Sunday. Both of his hits went to RF, and his two-run triple in the 2nd gave the B-Mets a comfortable 5-0 lead.

Recapish

The Binghamton Mets slide continued Thursday night as they fell to 14-games under .500. Although they took a sweep at the hands of Altoona, the B-Mets did have one glimmer of hope yesterday. Top Mets prospect Amed Rosario was promoted earlier in the day, and he’d make his season debut with Binghamton in the 9th as a pinch hitter.
Of course, on the one night this week that the B-Mets bats start clicking, the pitching comes up short. After Binghamton jumped ahead 1-0 in the 1st, Altoona tied it at 1 in the 3rd and scored a run in each of the next 5 frames. The B-Mets rallied to make it a 5-4 game after 5, but the Curve kept adding on until it was 9-4 after their final run scored in the 8th.
